Okay, Doc Khan, I am going to do skip one meal per day and see what happens, but I have one question that I would love to know the answer to. I have been drinking much more water lately, and it makes me feel great. I fill a 24 ounce water container up in the morning with fresh well water. But to it I add the juice of one whole lemon ( squeezed fresh with my little juicer), I also add the juice of one whole Lime, and the juice of one whole orange. In addition I add 1/8th cup of frozen raspberries and 1/8th cup frozen blueberries ( they just float around in there and the raspberries tint the water red.. and I add some ice cubes. As the ice cubes melt I add more and eventually, when I have drunk all that water with added juices, I just fill the container with plane water the rest of the day. But sometimes, I will make the whole concoction again in the later afternoon or early evenings, just because I love it so much.
Other-wise I do not drink other types of drinks, no sodas, no store bought fruit drinks. I also do not eat packaged foods, or breads, pastas, just as you describe above and I have lost 25 pounds doing this. I rarely eat fruit, just because of the high carbs. I might have some berries sometimes, an apple on occasion, or some cantaloupe, but mostly I eat meat and vegetables. But what I dont know is if my water concoction is okay? What do you think about it?

So I am interested to try the new skipping a meal idea because I have hit a plateau in my weight loss and need to do something. MI was searching out on formation on blood pressure because of something recent that occurred. My blood pressure has always been low…even when I had extra weight. Always 112/75 (ish)
Over the last 2 months I landed at the doctors office twice. First time in June for a strep test that was neg. then early this month for a transfer to a new doc, since mine retired. Just a meet and greet to get into the practice. Both times my blood pressure was 120/90. That was weird!
By way of your video I realized it could be sodium. My sodium has certainly increased since I have dropped the carbs and added so much more meat because I do eat more hot dogs, bacon, and kielbasa than ever. All three are organic varieties, but do have loads of salt. In just over a week of not eating those things I am back down to normal blood pressure. yay! Anyway…long message here, I wont bore you any longer…lol! but just wanted you to know what a help you have been. Really glad to know my water concoction is acceptable. I think you are on the right track. Berries are ok. Your Concoction ok. Juice from one whole orange if fine. Continue to avoid all types of added sugars.

So Doc, at least a 10 hour caloric free window from eating food? If you finish eating at 6:30pm, that means you fast and start eating around 4:30 or 5 the next morning?
I decided to fast for 5 days and review my situation every 24hrs (so total of 120 hours, only drinking about 2 liters of water a day. Have reached 48hrs and will now aim for 72hrs. I have not felt any positive effects yet I have to admit. Negative effects: 1) hunger obviously. I temper this by drinking water and keeping busy, but nothing too physically strenuous. 2) slight to moderate sweating. started after about a day. Its not a huge problem and I tell myself this is the body excreting toxins. 3) slight physical weakness in legs & arms. I noticed this waking up after about 36hrs into the fast. After walking about a bit and doing some household chores, the weakness has decreased hugely. 4) Slight dizziness. Felt it after about 36hrs when i woke up. Again, small physical activity + keeping mentally busy and drinking water and it has gone down but certainly not disappeared.
So thats it so far. Cant think of any other problems encountered. Even if i get to 72hrs with no food, ill be really pleased. Dont try this if youre lacking in will power or have to do strenuous physical work every day. When its over ill cut out eating all the foods and drinks Dr.Khan recommends.

Intermittent fasting just works. I do it every day min 14 hour fast so no breakfast. 3-4 days a week I go for a longer 18-20 hour fast to really take advantage of ketosis and autophagy. Great video, great tips and they work when you actually DO them!
